Festival of Christmas
A Joyful Celebration of Christ’s Birth
Join the OSLC choir as we sing Mary McDonald's Festival of Christmas — nine movements of Scripture and song telling the story of Jesus' birth and the Christmas gifts of hope, peace, joy, and love.
About the Service
A Cantata Centered on the Birth of Jesus
Festival of Christmas is a choral cantata by composer Mary McDonald. Our Savior Lutheran Church's choir will present these movements in this year's Christmas Eve service, with narration and Scripture readings that walk through the story of Christ's birth.
What to Expect
The service weaves together:
- Beloved Christmas carols and new choral settings
- Bible readings that trace the promise and birth of Christ
- Congregational singing and prayer
- Professional chamber orchestra accompanying the choir
Focus: The birth of Jesus Christ and His gifts of hope, peace, joy, and love
Songs We Will Sing from Festival of Christmas
These are the nine movements our choir will sing in order. You can add the exact Bible verses used in the readings next to each title if you wish.
